Event Web Design + Logo + Print Design

White Rock East Garden Tour

As attendance for this beloved annual event grew, the organizers started looking for technical solutions to streamline the work they’d always done by hand. They partnered with us for a full rebrand, including a new event web design that facilitated digital ticketing sales, logo creation, and map design.

01. Research

A Technical Solution

Each year, the garden tour grew primarily through word of mouth. What they needed was a website that could communicate the details of the event so participants, volunteers, sponsors, and vendors had a place to engage and get their questions answered. We focused our research on finding a cost-effective ticketing solution, that had all the capabilities they needed.

02. Design

Authentic Design

Being volunteer-run is part of the garden tour’s charm. So, we wanted the event’s web design to reflect not only the beautiful gardens but also the friendly informal atmosphere of this neighborhood event. To accomplish this we worked with the volunteers to source authentic photos from previous years and developed the layouts around what was available.

03. BUILD

Integrating Platforms

To minimize expenses, the event organizers wanted a website their volunteers could easily update each year. We chose to build the site on Squarespace because of how simple it is to edit and update layouts. Then, we created the event in Eventbrite and embedded it into the Squarespace site to provide a seamless ticket-purchasing experience.

Logo Design

As a part of the rebranding process, we created a new logo for the Garden Tour. The logo needed to be fun, lively, and have a garden feel. So, we created a free-spirited, abstract shape that was reminiscent of a garden plant. We used bright, earthy greens to give it the feel of a growing garden. See how we did it here →

Map Creation

Every year over a thousand people converge on this east Dallas neighborhood and the event organizers needed a simple way for the attendees to visit the gardens in any order and at their own pace. To make this as simple as possible, we created a map with QR codes that linked to directions to each garden, making them simple to find.
